Moses: Chosen to Build the Tabernacle, Week 4

Our theme for the year is Built to Obey. We'll be looking at lots of different people in the Bible who were given seemingly impossible tasks, but they chose obedience and God did amazing things through them!  We'll be learning this year that obedience is hardobedience is specificobedience is a choiceobedience is a witness, and obedience brings blessings.

In this unit we will be studying Moses and his obedience in building the tabernacle. The tabernacle was God's dwelling place among His people and where they could worship God and offer sacrifices. Here are some ways you can continue to the conversation at home this week:

Moses: Chosen to Build the Tabernacle, Week 3

Our theme for the year is Built to Obey. We'll be looking at lots of different people in the Bible who were given seemingly impossible tasks, but they chose obedience and God did amazing things through them!  We'll be learning this year that obedience is hardobedience is specificobedience is a choiceobedience is a witness, and obedience brings blessings.

In this unit we will be studying Moses and his obedience in building the tabernacle. The tabernacle was God's dwelling place among His people and where they could worship God and offer sacrifices. Here are some ways you can continue to the conversation at home this week:

1) Ready for a challenge? Here goes: as a family, read through the book of Exodus...like...the whole thing...just one chapter a day. It'll take awhile, and some parts will be hard to read, but spending time together in God's Word is always going to help us draw closer to God as we learn more about Him. Before you start reading, pray and ask God to give you wisdom to answer questions and to teach your whole family more about Him as you read.

2) How's that memory verse coming along? (In case you need it, here it is: Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded, "We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey." Exodus 24:7) If you haven't been able to say it to your encourager yet, keep working on it! Say it at each meal, write it out and hang it around your house, make up some fun hand motions to help you remember it.

Here are some more great ideas to enhance or use to start a family devotion or worship time:

The Tabernacle: Minecraft

The Israelites worked together to provide the materials needed to build the tabernacle. Here at Calvary, we have the opportunity to work together to send two families to the mission field. The Harlea Family is headed to Romania and the Craig Family is headed to South Africa. Click below to see more about each family and how you can support them as they choose to obey God's call on their family:
