Quest for Identity: Fruit of the Spirit

This year during FamilyQuest we are on a quest for our identity. We will accomplish this by studying various characters in the Bible, discovering the characteristic(s) that identified them, and then using those as a model for a personal understanding of our own identity which we have when we are born again and are in Christ Jesus.

(Note to Parents: We need you to clearly convey that this identity is ONLY for those who have experienced salvation through Christ Jesus and are new creatures. Although it is AVAILABLE to everyone, it is not an identity that AUTOMATICALLY BELONGS to everyone.)

During this unit, we are learning about the Fruit of the Spirit.  When we choose to follow Jesus Christ as our Savior, our lives will be sealed and others will begin to see the Fruit of the Spirit.

Here are some fun ideas for studying the Fruit of the Spirit at home!

A fun fruity craft: Scratch ‘N’ Sniff watercolor paints you can make yourself.  Mix 1 tablespoon of water with one packet of Kool-Aid (recommendations: lemonade, strawberry, cherry, grape, and orange flavors).  Mix the colors in an ice cube tray or a muffin tin. The colors are rich and vibrant. Once the paint dries, it can be scratched and will smell just like the various flavors.
NOTE: The grape flavor initially looks black, but as it dries it begins to look more and more purple.
